IFAD releases new product family (IRAS) for simulated communications training
The IRAS suite can be used in combinations up to a full radio communications trainer.
IRAS is a suite of simulation-based radio communications training
solutions that enables basic and advanced radio operator training,
procedure training, as well as rehearsal of complex communications
scenarios for a large number of different radio systems and operators.
The
IRAS suite includes simulation products that can be used either
stand-alone or in various combinations, e.g. IRAS*Comm in combination
with IRAS*Radio up to the full IRAS*Trainer solution:

The IRAS*Trainer solution
IRAS*Trainer
addresses the need for mission training in realistic communication
scenarios. The system was designed to provide both realistic
communication equipment operation as well as realistic communication
experience.
IRAS*Trainer was delivered to the Royal Danish Navy's Warfare School at Naval
Base Frederikshavn. It has been in operational use since 2007.
IRAS*Trainer can be delivered as a turn-key training solution. Through a modular design
and the use of interoperable components IRAS*Trainer provides an
expandable, flexible, and cost-effective training solution.
